Blind Leadership
We must demand leaders who have their eyes opened to the realities of life.
Another major speech by President Joe Biden this week reminds us that our nation is headed toward a cliff if we do not change course. Such is the fate of the blind leading the blind. And “blind as a bat” would be an apt way to summarize this speech.
With American troops on the ground in Ukraine, inflation still affecting American families, speculations of a possible housing market crash increasing, degrading conditions in America’s largest cities, facing significant challenges from our disastrous COVID response policies, and millions of Americans worried about crime in their neighborhoods, President Biden took to the airways on prime time to talk about –wait for it— MAGA Republicans.
Seriously.
I know it is a week before the election, but is anyone buying this drivel? On and on, he went about, “The extreme MAGA element of the Republican Party, which is a minority of that party, as I said earlier, but it’s its driving force.” Okay.
The whole thing reeked of desperation in the worst possible way. He opened his momentous speech by connecting the recent despicable attack on Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi’s husband, Paul (conducted by a nudist, BLM-loving, LGBTQ-flag-waiving psychopath) to January 6 protestors. That’s right. One and the same, apparently.
The connection, you ask? Well, Paul Pelosi’s attacker said, “Where is Nancy?” So, our astute President notes, “Those are the very same words used by the mob when they stormed the United States Capitol on January 6. …” They had two eyes and legs, too. So, vote Democrat, or you will be putting this attacker in charge. “Make no mistake, democracy is on the ballot for all of us,” he said.
I guess these sorts of political slogans are better than the alternative. To hear the actual policies of today’s Left is revolting. Just recently, one of its most prominent candidates enjoying President Biden’s full support, said abortion is a major piece of combating inflation. “Having children is why you’re worried about your price for gas,” she told MSNBC. No, I’m not making that up. Watch:
But that is not important. It is not that big a deal that a candidate argues that a baby’s heartbeat is a “manufactured sound designed to convince people that men have the right to take control of a woman’s body.” The important thing is that they do not deny the election results as those MAGA Republicans do. Actually, we should amend that (leftists have notoriously denied election results for years); the important thing is that you are not a conservative who wants election integrity. That’s the threat to democracy President Biden wants you to be worried about this election. Vote blue! Or do you want those baby-loving, American-flag-waving Christian parents concerned about the economy, crime in their cities, and the early sexualization and exploitation of their children in schools to be in charge?
The president is right in one aspect, “You have the power, it’s your choice, it’s your decision, the fate of the nation, the fate of the soul of America lies where it always does, with the people, in your hands, in your heart, in your ballot.” He is, apparently, utterly blind to the real threats we are facing as a nation, but we do have the power to change course and get back to the foundations that have helped us to flourish in the past.
It is no time for complacency. We have seen the tangible consequences of misguided policies in the past few years—of blind leadership. It is time for this generation to grow up and take responsibility for our current state.
We must demand leaders who have their eyes opened to the realities of life. We must demand leaders who pay attention to the economic, mental, and even spiritual health of our nation. We must reject political slogans and outright lies during election season that have no relationship with the policies they promote and put in place once they are elected. Beyond political parties, we must demand results.
We do that with our vote. So, let’s not neglect it.
